Man Draws Attention While Buying ₦50,000 Worth of Frozen Turkey at Ogba Market

A man identified as Michael Akpabio drew attention at Ogba Market on Wednesday evening while attempting to buy frozen turkey worth ₦50,000 from a vendor known as Mama Sarah.

The incident occurred on July 16, 2026, during the early hours of the evening when market activities were still ongoing. Witnesses said Mr. Akpabio approached the frozen food section and requested several packs of frozen turkey with a total value of about ₦50,000, attracting the attention of nearby traders and customers.

According to Mama Sarah, she said the situation became noticeable because of the quantity and value of the turkey requested.

“He came to my stall and asked for frozen turkey worth ₦50,000. At first I thought it was a normal purchase, but people around started paying attention because he wanted many packs at once,” she said.

A passerby, Chinedu Okafor, said he noticed a crowd gathering around the stall.

“I was passing through the market when I saw people gathering. Someone said a man was trying to buy a large quantity of frozen turkey worth ₦50,000. It was not a serious incident, but it attracted attention,” he said.

Another witness, Aisha Bello, said market traders were simply curious about the transaction.

“People in markets are always observant. Once they noticed the discussion between the buyer and the vendor, many of us stopped to see what was happening,” she added.

Business activities later resumed normally after it became clear that the incident involved only a customer purchasing frozen turkey. No arrests were made, and traders continued their evening sales without further disruption.
